an email to carla...
well, its nice for SOME people that there lives are all, like exciting! and WOW! seriuosly though, it sounds like you're having a fab time which is cool. my week has not been hugely exciting, just working... it's getting more wintry at work and thus far quieter. of course this means that there is more time for everyone to flirt so i've been told how cute i am quite a lot. i'm not sure i like cute. mice are cute, bunnies are cute, tiny bottles of alcohol are cute... i'm not sure i want to fall into that category...
on the other hand, one of my customers (a very beautiful italiany-french lady) said to me that it mst be very difficult for me as"such an extremely attractive woman" to fight off unwanted advances from all my male customers. she said it as if it was obvious fact so i coudn't argue with her (i mean the customer is always right) so, deadpan, i stated that yes, it was a burden, but you learned to deal with it. it was very sweet of her to say.
anyway, after work that night (this was saturday) we all went out as it was one of the waiters' last night, so we all went for one drink to celebrate. HAH! flash to me getting home at 6 in the morning. and feeling rather rogh the next day. that evening i went for pizza with taz... she's doing quite well for herself and i think she's found more direction in her life... which i think was what was bothering her so much about working at zero...
monday i worked day, and actually made R150, not bad for a day shift... then yesterday i watched "the day after tomorrow" (the 9 am show!) and went for coffee with lee. then work, again. i only had one table of 6 (winter!) and their bill was R1334 and the guy gave me R1350 and told me to keep the change- a R16 tip! can you handle it? luckily the anager went and had a discreet chat with the guy and he gave me another R100, but that still wasn't 10%, and this whole thing serves to remind me that i need to get out of this industry.
anyway, so that's pretty much it, went to the library this morning, now i'm emailing you, then work tonight. oh, i got comps for purgatory so lee and i might go saturday night.
email soon, hope you are still having fun,
much love
